As a dedicated psychotherapist, I specialize in helping and supporting individuals through various life challenges:
Background and Education
I have over 20 years of experience working in Acute and Outpatient psychiatric and Substance abuse Treatment facilities in clinical and leadership roles. I collaborate effectively with other members of the treatment team such as psychiatric providers and other therapist. As such, I provide comprehensive treatment while under my care and at other levels of care.
As a Clinical Social Worker, I received my training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from William Alanson White Institute.
Over the years I supervised Social Work Interns and early career Social Workers in clinical settings. In the last 9 years I have contributed as an Adjunct Professor at NYU Graduate School of Social Work.
Health and Medical Issues
I offer support for those navigating significant life changes and coping with medical treatment, whether as patient or caregiver.
Aging and Related Concerns
Together we will consider the psychological impact of aging, helping you embrace this natural life stage with confidence and grace.
Immigration and Cultural Adaptation
Drawing on extensive experience, I provide specialized care for individuals and families dealing with:
• The complex emotional journey and consequences of immigration
• Challenges in acculturation, adaptation and identity
• Intergenerational cultural dynamics within families
Family Dynamics
I help examine the challenges and traumatic points in a supportive and nurturing space, particularly as it relates to the immigration experience, and work to improve family relationships affected by these experiences.
